Dear Member of the Problem Solvers Caucus,

We write to you as committed constituents to express our strong support for the Venezuelan Adjustment Act, an initiative that seeks to provide stability and security to a community that has largely entered the country legally and actively contributes to the well-being of the United States. This bill offers a fair and structured path for integration to Venezuelans present in the country before December 31, 2021, who contribute to our nation’s economic, social, and cultural growth while embodying values of lawfulness, commitment, and a desire to enrich our society.

Aligned with the principles of both parties, this project presents an opportunity to reinforce policies of inclusion, security, and economic development that reflect the essence of the United States.

Key Reasons to Support the Venezuelan Adjustment Act

Considering the reasons outlined below, we urge your support for this legislation:

  • The vast majority of Venezuelans who entered before December 31, 2021, did so legally and continue to uphold and respect U.S. laws.
  • This bill underscores a commitment to lawful processes, supporting a responsible immigration policy that bolsters trust in our legal system.
  • This legislation backs a responsible immigration approach that reinforces confidence in legal pathways and supports our nation’s security.
  • The Venezuelan community has demonstrated a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. Providing a path to legal status would allow them to fully participate in the economy, generating additional tax revenue and supporting small local businesses. This would incentivize private enterprise and help reduce strains on our system.
  • The legislation enables inclusion and social justice while honoring our humanitarian commitments. Venezuela faces one of the most severe humanitarian crises of our time. This bill represents an opportunity for the United States to uphold its global leadership in human rights by providing a safe refuge to those fleeing extreme conditions.
  • A fair opportunity for integration and contribution to local communities will help thousands of Venezuelan families already residing in the country, the majority of whom entered legally, reducing exploitation and social risks.
  • Both parties have joined in supporting the Dignity Act, which laid a foundation for compassionate and practical immigration policy. The Venezuelan Adjustment Act is a logical and complementary extension of this effort, providing a targeted response to Venezuelans who meet requirements of prolonged presence and respect for the law. The bill already has the support of Brian Fitzpatrick, Co-Chair of the Caucus, along with four additional members, underscoring the bipartisan nature of the proposal.
  • This legislation presents an opportunity for both parties to unite in a shared commitment to a fair and effective immigration policy. Endorsing the Venezuelan Adjustment Act would solidify bipartisan consensus around a solution that upholds the integrity of our laws while supporting vulnerable communities that wish to contribute positively to our nation.

The Venezuelan Adjustment Act offers a fair, lawful, and humanitarian solution that aligns with principles shared by both parties. With your support, the Problem Solvers Caucus can be a catalyst for positive change, building a nation that embodies both the strength of its laws and its compassion toward those who seek a chance to contribute to the prosperity and diversity of the United States.

We greatly appreciate your consideration of this cause that affects thousands of families. We remain at your disposal for any further questions.

Sincerely,
